My name is Miosotis, but most people call me Mio. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I grew up watching my mother work as a cosmetologist and makeup artist whenever she had the chance. For us, beauty was never superficial; it embodied discipline, skill, and artistry.
As a hairstylist and an award-winning makeup artist with over 20 years of experience, I have dedicated my life to mastering beauty services. What began as a childhood dream has evolved into a lifelong commitment. The technical precision behind hair color, customized haircuts, and editorial-level makeup drives my passion. However, it’s the transformations— the quiet confidence that emerges when someone feels genuinely seen and elevated— that fuels my work the most.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working across the United States and Puerto Rico with highly respected artists who have shaped my standards in the beauty industry. I have trained with leading educators, including Ashlee Norman, Larisa Love, and Danessa Myricks, among others. Currently, I travel as part of the Ashlee Norman Hair Team, serving as both a hair and makeup artist and a co-facilitator educator.
I consistently invest in advanced education to refine my precision as a hair color specialist. My training has taken me internationally to deepen my expertise in editorial makeup and to further develop customized methodologies rooted in technical excellence. Continuous growth is a vital part of my professional standard.
As a hairstylist, I specialize in creating dimensional color and highly customized haircuts. No two clients are approached the same way; every formula is intentional, and each haircut is tailored specifically for the individual in my chair.
As a makeup artist, my philosophy centers on enhancement over alteration. I focus on polished, refined looks that elevate natural beauty while maintaining structure and balance. When engaging in editorial work, my creativity thrives as I conceptualize, design, and often photograph the final image myself to ensure the vision is fully realized.
